Emotional Intelligence for Emotional Resilience
About Lesson

This module seeks to give a coherent explanation as well as practical advice to deal with feelings, especially those of distress. Human beings are social creatures that interact with themselves and their environment through emotions: these offer us joy, relief, happiness, surprise, warnings, ways to defend ourselves and create meaningful connection. Feelings are, therefore, an inevitable part of our life that we must learn to manage in order to be satisfied with ourselves and our own existence. Learning to reflect on yourself autonomously and develop emotionally intelligent tools is the key to leading a successful professional and personal life. Emotions are not just simply something we experience, they are something we do; and as something we do, they take up our body, mind and environment, including our workplace and either help us forward or block us. Being able to behave in an emotionally intelligent way will help you better understand your goals, needs, abilities and therefore stick out and advance professionally in your career. In the next page, you will find: the expected learning outcomes, the three paragraphs, a summary of the lessons learned, questions to assess what you have learned, the complementary materials to dig deeper into the topic and, lastly, the sources used to write this module.
